Membership Rules & Regulations

1. Organisation & Membership

The parent or legal guardian is the registered member of IBDCI. Membership is activated upon submission of the completed registration form and confirmation of membership fee payment by the branch administrator. Each child enrolled is registered under the parent member's account. Membership is personal and non-transferable.

2. Programme Services

IBDCI provides brain development and early childhood education programmes to the member's child or children. Course schedules, curriculum, and learning materials are determined by the respective branch. Members will be given reasonable advance notice of any changes to programmes or class arrangements.

3. Membership Fee & Payment

• A membership fee is applicable upon enrolment and on a monthly basis thereafter.
• Monthly membership fees are due on the agreed date each month.
• Members will be informed of any fee revision with reasonable advance notice.
• Fees paid are non-refundable unless a class is cancelled by the organisation.
• Continued non-payment may result in a temporary suspension of the child's attendance pending resolution.

4. Conduct & Centre Guidelines

Members and their children are expected to observe the guidelines and behavioural standards of the centre at all times. Any conduct that affects the safety, well-being, or learning environment of others may be addressed by the branch accordingly.

5. Membership Withdrawal

Members who wish to discontinue their membership are welcome to do so by providing 30 days' notice to the branch. We appreciate timely notice so that the branch may arrange a smooth transition for the child. Any outstanding membership fees up to the end of the notice period remain payable. Should exceptional circumstances arise, the organisation may initiate a withdrawal discussion with the member — this will always be handled with care and respect for all parties involved.

6. Limitation of Liability

IBDCI takes all reasonable measures to provide a safe and supportive learning environment. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the organisation, its staff, volunteers, and representatives shall not be held responsible for:

• Personal belongings — Loss, theft, or damage to any personal property, electronic devices, clothing, or valuables brought to the centre.
• Physical injury — Injury arising from a child's own conduct, interaction with other children, or from pre-existing medical conditions, allergies, or special needs not disclosed to the branch at registration.
• Undisclosed medical conditions — Any medical emergency or adverse reaction resulting from information withheld or not updated by the parent or guardian.
• Third-party actions — Conduct or actions of other members, children, or external persons outside the direct supervision or control of IBDCI staff.
• Service disruption — Interruption, suspension, or cancellation of programmes caused by events beyond the organisation's reasonable control, including natural disasters, pandemic, public health directives, government orders, or infrastructure failure.
• Digital & media content — Any third-party sharing or redistribution of content published by IBDCI beyond the organisation's reasonable control once published.

Parents and guardians are strongly advised to disclose any medical condition, allergy, developmental need, or behavioural concern at registration and to update the branch promptly of any changes. IBDCI reserves the right to administer basic first aid and to contact emergency services when necessary. The organisation is not a substitute for professional medical care.

Nothing in this section limits liability for death or serious injury caused by the gross negligence or wilful misconduct of IBDCI or its staff, to the extent required by applicable Malaysian law.

7. Privacy & Member Data

Personal information collected is used solely for membership administration and programme delivery. Information will not be shared with third parties without the member's consent, except where required by law.

8. Reservation of Rights

IBDCI reserves the right to:

• Amend these Rules at any time with reasonable advance notice to members. Continued membership after notification constitutes acceptance of the revised rules.
• Suspend or modify programmes — including schedules, venues, fees, or curriculum — with reasonable notice, in response to operational, regulatory, or other legitimate requirements.
• Decline membership at the organisation's discretion, without obligation to provide detailed reasons.
• Correct registration records in consultation with the member where errors or omissions are identified.
• Exercise discretion in interpreting and applying these rules fairly and reasonably, in the best interest of members, children, and the learning community.

These rules are governed by the laws of Malaysia and are supplementary to IBDCI's registered constitution under the Societies Act 1966. In the event of any conflict, the registered constitution shall prevail.
